Giveaways and Hawaii Pics

I just wanted to mention a super sweet giveaway that is out there in the blog world. Beth, from Shut Up and Run!, is giving away two separate prizes to both a male and a female winner. The female winner will receive a GoLite Tank, GoLite running skirt, and a pair of Ryder Drill Glasses. I don’t know what the males get and quite frankly I don’t really care, because I’m not a dude. All I know is I that I really want that skirt, I would sell my soul to the devil to win that skirt; it’s a shame that he already laid claim to it a long time ago. You all know I’m kidding right? I’m a little angel. Quit rolling your eyes.

Also, don’t forget about my Ryder Eyewear giveaway, which ends on Friday, April 9th at 5:00 MST. Go ahead and enter mine, but don’t enter Beth’s, I’m only telling you about her giveaway because I want another entry for that skirt. At least I’m honest.

I’m so glad that my 20 miler is done. I was stressing big time over it since the last time I ran a 20 miler, I ended up in the hospital three days later with that dang embolism. My anxiety level was REALLY high, especially since I didn’t know what the hospitals in Kauai were like, but it’s done and I celebrated with a Mai Tai. Ok, it was more then one Mai Tai, but who counts those sort of things in Hawaii. Even though I had to endure the high winds, I realized that running at my goal marathon pace at sea level is a heck of a lot easier then at altitude!

I will have one more 20 miler and then a taper….I think. Only 30 more days!

I did a lot more then just run my 20 miler, here's some photos.

I sunned myself on the beach. Ooops that's a monk seal, not me. Same idea though.

I went snorkeling

My husband and I did a zipline tour. I look like Corkey in my special helmet.

There I am way back there on the zipline. I'm afraid of heights by the way.

Saw lots of cool waterfalls and rain forests

Watched gorgeous Hawaii sunsets.

And celebrated my one year anniversary with my husband (we've been together for 8 years, but whose counting). We were married on March 21st, 2009.

The Kauai Marathon is September 5th, I think I might sign up just as an excuse to go back.

Looks like a fun time. I'm going to Maui in June and had hoped to find a race but there was nothing. Happy belated anniversary btw.

Hey Corkey - thanks for the link to my giveaway. But if you really want the stuff you should send me a picture. Five extra entries and a chance at the hydration pack. C'mon girl, I know you have it in you. Love the pics. Esp the underwater one. Way cool.

Great pics! We did get a bikini shot after all...score! (hope your husband doesn't notice)
So how does getting married last month = 1 year? (I know you probably meant 2009.)

30 days? That came quick and I'm not even running it!!
I love Hawaii, I wish I could move there *sigh* But we're going in November for Thanksgiving - I wonder what turkey tastes like washed down with a MaiTai?
Oh, and there is a fun smaller marathon in Maui each January - if you want the link I'll send it to you ;) Happy Anniversary!

Hey Hot Mama, great under water bikini shot...I always thought the water magnified one's body but you look like a little feather! It must be all that training...

Did I read that right? You ended up with a blood clot with the last 20 miler? WOW. Glad your run went better, then!

And these picture have totally motivated me to look for a beach vacation... STAT. (That didn't sound as cool typing it out as it did in my head.)

Thanks for sharing the pix. I have yet to be in Hawaii for anything - yet the Maui Marathon is something to think about for me as well. I have the potential to win a free trip there at the OC Half Marathon, so cross my fingers!

Here is to many, many, many more Happy Anniversaries for you two!!

I LOVE zip-lining! Granted, I only did it once when I was like, 10 years old at camp. But still. Awesome. Good luck on your next 20 miler! PS. Have you ever thought about doing the Leadville marathon? I'm thinking about maaaaaaaybe doing it this year. Do you know anything about it?

Anna-Yes, I ran my 20 miles and then had a bilateral pulmonary embolism three days later. They said it was because of my birth control

Per usual, as we discussed tonight, I am WAY behind on blog world so sorry I missed your awesome photos! You are just one of the most warm-hearted, and wickedly fun people I've ever met! Sorry we (meaning me) just babbled on about my pathetic life and not much about Hawaii so I was so happy to log on and see all your super cool pics!! Happy Anniversary, girlie! For your anniversary, I'm going to torment you for a few miles in the marathon...in 29 days :). LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my necklace....you almost made me cry - no one's ever done anything so nice like that, thank you!!!
HUGS!!!!
