Quick Post/Gratitude List

My new Smart Wool socks. Yeah, they are ugly, but they have kept my feet toasty warm in the frigid temps we've been having.

This will be a short, quick post today; gotta get to work, being an Accountant at year end is hell. TGIF!

First off, I wanted to mention a great giveaway over at Julia’s Chocolate Shoestrings blog. She’s giving away an awesome Japanese Whimsy Goody Package. Go check it out (finish my post first….don’t worry, it’s quick).

Second, good luck to all of you who are racing this weekend. Sending positive running thoughts your way!

Third, a few posts ago, I mentioned that I was reading Dean Karnazes “50 Marathons in 50 Days”. Well, I finished it this past weekend. Quite honestly I couldn’t put the dang book down. It was that good and very inspirational, so if you haven’t read it yet, go get the book!!!

Training: I’ve gotten in a few short runs this week with total mileage at 12 miles so far and I will be doing an 8 mile run this weekend. Total mileage will be at 20; ramping back up.

Gratitude:
1.) I am thankful that it is Friday.
2.) I am thankful that the weather is in the 30’s today and will be in the 40’s and 50’s this weekend. I can’t take this cold weather.
3.) I am thankful for my new Smart Wool hiking socks; they’ve kept my cold feet warm this week.

Alright that it. I told you it would be quick! I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Ahh, the year end for an accountant - this is my wife's first year finding out what that's like!

I picked up Karnazes book the other day, but have only read the first chapter thus far. I'm not much of a book person, but it seems like a good one.

Enjoy your warm weekend - 8 miles outside would be much more enjoyable in the 40s.

I don't envy you and year end! LOL! To each accountant her own :)

Hey you...
I heart Smart Wool Socks to death! I think they wear out quickly but wowzie, so warm and comfy. Have you tried the Smart Wool running sock?? Very sweet!! I am super sick of this frigid temps - it's affecting my training and I can't wait for it to be 40. It will seem like 90 after the cold snap we've been in. Your mileage is picking up, you're getting stronger :)! Happy Weekend!!

Wow different issues that took us out of running, but we are SO on the same track right now. I am up to 12-14 miles/week and am going to shoot for my first 8 miler this weekend. I did my first tempo today! Doesn't it feel good? I love the Smartwools. They are not cheap, but they are the best and in the cutest styles. Have you watched the 50/50 documentary yet?? If you liked the book you will love it. You can get it at Netflix. Talk about inspiring!

I think your socks look cute! I think I'm going to get DK's first book and see how that one is, I heard it has much more details of his life.

Enjoy your weekend and stay warm!

I have never heard anything but great things about that book. I'm going to read it, but I want to wait until I'm in full on training mode for maximum inspiration effect.

Put down the turtle! Good luck on your run this weekend.!!!

I liked the Karnazes book too. Another good running book is My Life on the Run by Bart Yasso, a light and enjoyable read.

Smartwool running socks are the best for winter running in the snow. Keep the feet warm!
